I have been absolutely healthy this whole pregnancy and now, with possibly 3 days left, I am sick: ( I have a fever and a bad cold. I am hoping it's gone before Monday and I am hoping Casey doesn't get sick. On Monday we get another amnio at 12:30, then right from there I have to go up to maternity to get prepped for a c section. It will be pending the results of his lung maturity again. If all is well,we will have a baby around 3:30. If it's a no go, I just go home, again. They will for sure do it at 38 weeks. So in 3 days or another week, we will have our Lil Mose!

the results are in

We are not going to have our boy tomorrow. His lungs are just not developed enough. So, the plan is next week I will get another amnio, not fun, and pending the results we should be able to deliver him that same day or the following day. Thank you all for your continued prayers for our family. Please pray that when we deliver next week this Lil boy will be healthy and strong, Thank You.

9 months!

We made it! We are 9 months pregnant, 36 weeks:) I am feeling it too. I was told as I got further along the baby wouldn't move as much because he wouldn't have the room. Well, in the past 2 days I have felt this lil boy move more than ever! He is moving like he's on a mission. I can't believe that in just 2 days he will no longer be in there. We are hoping everything goes well with his test tomorrow so we can have our boy on Tuesday! Keep your fingers crossed:)

We had a Wonderful last weekend as just a couple. Yesterday we went swimming at a friends house. They let us have the pool and house all to ourselves. Then we had fish and crab legs for dinner, Mmmmm, so good! Today we went to the movies and then out to lunch. Something we have not been able to do my whole pregnancy, it was great. Now, we got the car seat in, hospital bag packed, and we are ready!

In 4 days we are going to be parents! We are so excited and so ready. This lil boy absolutely LOVES his daddy already. Casey knows exactly how to get him going in my belly, it's so cute! I think we have just about everything done. The only thing I have left to do is pack our hospital bag. Everything else is done. Thank you everyone for your help. This weekend we are just hoping to relax and maybe get outside and just spend our last weekend together as a couple. Maybe we will go to a movie or go sit out by the pool somewhere...we'll keep you posted!

in just 7 days...

Our lives will be completely different. We will have our baby boy, Lucas Mose Ayars. In just 7 days we will have received one of the most glorious gifts from God. In just 7 days this house will never be the same. We are so excited! It's still so hard to believe that we will have a baby. We will get to hold him in our arms. We will be responsible for loving, caring, and teaching him everything he will need to know. Wow! That's the only way I can explain how I feel:) Thank you ALL for helping us get to where we are.

home stretch

12 days, that's all we have left! We had a ultrasound today, it went well. Lucas showed them he could breathe on his own and did everything they needed him to do in less than 15 minutes. It was great: ) His estimated weight is 6.4lbs! He should be a little over 5lbs. He's going to be a big boy. We also had a doctor's appointment. We went over the plan. July 27th we get an amnio(they check the fluid from the baby to make sure his lungs are good),if all is well, we will have Lucas the next day. If his lungs aren't mature enough we will have to wait another week. Please pray that Luke's lungs are well developed and strong. We are so ready for this gift God has given to us, we just pray for him to be healthy, happy, and strong.

Baby Shower!

Before I get into about the baby shower, I wanted to let everyone know that we finally decided on a name for our little boy! Lucas Mose Ayars is what we will be naming him. The meaning of Lucas is "giver of light", Mose means "saviour", and Ayars is "fortune". It is perfect:)

Now, we had our baby shower yesterday and it was absolutely perfect! There were so many people. All family and friends. It was great to be around so many people we care for and that care about us. They all in some way have helped us get where we are today. We had delicious food, a wonderful and beautiful cake, and Lucas got just about everything he will need, including diapers for a very long time and a wonderful surprise from Matt and Stacey. They got Lucas his bedroom furniture! How amazing is that! We even played a few games including, guess how big Laura's belly is...Everyone thought I was a lot bigger than what I really am. I guess that just goes along with pregnancy. Thank you EVERYONE that made this day perfect for us.

Mirek and Katka

Mirek and Katka are here! Mirek lived with the Ayars family for a few years while playing hockey in the states. He is from the Czeck Republic. It was so nice to finally meet them. I have heard SO much about them from Casey and his family. Great stories, memories, and have seen some pictures, so getting to meet them has been great! Casey refers to him as "My brother from another mother", so cute. He is so happy that he is here and has been able to hang out with them for the past few days. Sadly, they are leaving tomorrow. I guess that means in the next year or so we will be on our way to go visit them!

I am now 33 weeks pregnant! I sure do feel it too. I feel that this baby is going to just punch or kick his way through my belly, he is so strong. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. 22 days left, I can't believe it! It is coming so fast. This weekend is our baby shower and we are just so excited. It is all just so real. We are almost at the finish line.

almost ready

We had our doctor appointments today, everything is perfect! The baby was head down hiding his face and did not want to cooperate with the tech. It was a half hour appointment and in the 30 minutes she needed him to breathe on his own. She was pounding on my stomach to get this lil boy to wake up, but nope, he did when HE was ready. In the last 5 minutes he decided to show her that he could breathe and gave us a glimpse of his beautiful face, but just a glimpse. That was perfect for us. The tech showed us all his hair and said "this stinker is going to need a hair cut when he comes out". Can you imagine, dark hair, maybe curly hair, juicy lips, and looks like Daddy and Mommy, watch out ladies! 26 more days to go!

Casey and Keith picked up the baby furniture the other day! Almost ready!!! We got his crib, dresser/changer, and glider. It is so perfect! I couldn't help but cry happy and sad tears. Happy because we are having a baby in 26 days, sad because this should have all been for our first lil boy, Brody. I do miss him and love him so much. He's in a good place and now we will be able to tell his little brother all about him.
