happy 2 weeks

My lil boy is already 2 weeks old! He weighs 8 pounds 7 ounces and is 22 inches long. He's picking up his head and already try to roll on his side, it's nuts! He is such a good baby. He cries only when he is getting hungry, needs his diaper changed, and when he's getting his diaper changed, he does not like it at all. He LOVES his swing. He will just sit in it and talk away. He also loves tummy time and getting his head washed. He got his first real bath tonight, not just a sponge bath. He wasn't too happy about it. We are so thankful for this gift and he is just so precious.

We went to visit Pop pop Mose, Granny, Uncle Ang, and Aunt Candy yesterday. It was such a great time. We played Wii and ate some amazing food, as always.

Today is Titi Michelle's birthday!!! She is such a great friend to us. She has always been there for me. She loves her Lil Nico. Happy Birthday!

1 week

As of Thursday, Nico is 1 week old. It has been an AWESOME week with him. He is such a good baby. He only fusses if he is starting to get hungry or bored. So far, we only have had to wake up 2 times during the night for feeding for him. He smiles, loves his swing, and loves his rocker. He also LOVES his Daddy! When Daddy talks, Nico starts looking around to find him. SO cute!

home sweet home

Baby Nico got out of the NICU on Sunday and got to spend the whole day and his first night with Mommy and Daddy. He did great! Only woke up 2 times to eat. After a rough day yesterday for him, hearing test and getting all checked out, we got to bring him home! He is doing great and is such a good baby. He has only been crying when he wants food. Other than that he sleeps or is very awake and alert trying to figure out what is going on. Last night was a good night. Nico ate at 9:30, woke up at 1:00am for his next feeding and then after that, did not get up until 6am! It was great. I still didn't get much sleep because of just watching him and waking up to EVERY little sound he made. I will get over that shortly, I think. Daddy took care of Lil Mose this morning to let me get a few hours of sleep. Casey has been absolutley great! He gets up every time I get up to help out, even if it's something simple. We love him so much. Barb came over yesterday and will again today to help us out. I am still really sore from my c-section. She has been great! She has been changing Nico, running to the store for us, and making us food. She is teaching us a lot. We are very thankful to have her here. 1 day down, 100 years+ to go:)

Nicolas Mose Ayars

He has arrived! We were scheduled for our c-section on Sunday, but this lil man has a mind of his own. I went in for my last doctor appointment and end up having a baby. Nicolas was born Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 2:36pm. He weighs 8lbs 6oz and is 20in. long. He has brown hair and dark blue eyes for now. He is perfect. He is in the NICU right now. He is breathing on his own, just is doing something called "grunting". Still trying to clear out his lungs. He is not a fussy baby at all. Very pleasant and chill. Also, very observant. He is just watching everything that is going on around him. We thank the Lord for this precious gift he has given us. Our lil man truly is a answered prayer. Thanks be to God!

Thank you to Everyone for your prayers for our family. Please continue to pray for Nico that his lungs get strong and he can come home with us in the next couple of days.

still baking

Well, I am sure everyone knows that Monday was NOT the day. We are perfectly ok with that. I want him to be ready when it's time. It gives him some extra time to bake just right: ) So, the plan is, Sunday at 8am I will deliver this lil boy by c-section, unless he comes before. Please pray for our boy, that he is healthy, strong, and his lungs are ready.

I know I told everyone that we were going to name him Lucas, well, Daddy is thinking something else. He said it just doesn't feel right. I think we have one, but Daddy wants to keep it a secret until he is born. Soon enough!

Today may be the day!

Today we go for another amnio. If all is well and this lil boy is ready, we will have him by late afternoon! I have learned even with a scheduled c-section, we are not in charge. It is all in His hands. Not ours, not even the doctor, who I don't think ever would have thought I would make it to 37 weeks. But here we are, except for a cold, am healthy and ready to have a baby. We are so thankful.

Like I mentioned, we are now 37 weeks! I am Huge! Or maybe this lil boy is not so little. Last night we had a wonderful dinner at Keith and Barb's house. We got to talk to Matt, Stacey, and Lily on skype. It was so nice to be able to see them, even if it wasn't in person. We all guessed a weight for this baby ranging from 6.20, Lily's guess, she doesn't know all measurements and weights yet, to 8.3, Stacey's guess. We will see who is right!!!
