family

The holidays are coming and I feel it just brings the family closer together. It's a time when we can get excited, joke around, eat good food, and, well, just act like kids. We are so thankful for ALL He has given us. Without Him, none of this would be. I can't wait till this summer when Matt, Stace, and Lily are here and we can get some family pictures with them!

before I was a mom...

? Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. ? ? I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. ? I never thought about immunizations. ? ? Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on. ? ? Pooped on. ? ? Chewed on. ? ? Peed on. ? ? I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. ? ? I slept all night. ? ? Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. ? ? Or give shots. ? ? I never looked into teary eyes and cried. ? ? I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. ? ? I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep. ? ? Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put them down. ? ? I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. ? ? I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. ? ? I never knew that I could love someone so much. ? ? I never knew I would love being a Mom. ? ? Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. ? ? I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. ? ? I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. ? ? I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy. ? ? Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. ? ? I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. ? ? I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom. ? ?

Already 3 months!

We can't believe it, it has already been 3 whole months! Nico is weighing in at 16 pounds and 26.5 inches long. He is such a BIG boy! He is talking up a storm, is chewing on his hands ALL the time, and loves his cow, Cliff Lee(Daddy named him). He is always staring at him and sucking and chewing on his face.

We have started reading books and Nico is really liking it. Last night we read the book "Tails", which is a touch and feel book and he was so in to it. He is sitting up with a little help and holding his head pretty steady. Before we know it, he's going to be rolling and crawling everywhere. We are so thankful and SO in love with this precious gift the Lord has given us. Thank you to everyone for your continued prayers for our healthy boy.

Nico is starting to really enjoy his toys. He laughs at them, swats at them, and is grabbing at his hanging toys.

Nico absolutely loves his Daddy time. Casey has been working a lot, so when Nico gets to see Daddy before bed, he takes full advantage of it. He always gives his Daddy a HUGE smile, talks to him, and drools all over him. I love my boys.

3 years and 2 babies later

Yesterday was Casey and my 3 year anniversary! Can you believe all that has happened in the past 3 years. It is going so fast. We are truly blessed. We have each other, had 2 beautiful boys, our families and friends, and most of all we have developed a new closeness to the Lord. We have had and will always continue to have a few obstacles in our way, but now we have Him to trust in to get us through all. All of our experiences have helped us grow in so many ways. We are so thankful that the Lord has always been by our side and now, not only do we say it, we feel it and know it.

Both of our boys at about 2 days old.

Happy Halloween

Before I get in to our Halloween, I wanted to give an update on Baby Mateo. He is off life support and breathing on his own! Amen! I will be sure to give more updates as I get them. Thank You ALL for your prayers for this miracle baby and his family.

Nico did NOT like dressing up!!!

We had almost the whole family over for Halloween. The kids decorated pumpkins, frosted and decorated cookies, watched a Halloween movie, and then went "Trick or Treating". We had such a good time. They are all so much fun. Nico was loving all the kids around him and would just smile and talk to whoever got in his face. Man, he was sure worn out by the time the left to get their treats. We sure missed not having Lily, but she seemed like she had a blast in Haiti:)

After all of our Halloween events, everyone was worn out, as you can see:)
