nico likes...

To bounce for an hour at a time in his jumper. He's got it down. It's so cute! When he jumps, both feet are in the air, flying out to the side.

Nico LOVES to eat! He will eat anything and after every bite go Mmmmm! He likes everything he has been given so far, but I would have to say his favorite fruit is bananas and favorite vegetable is a tie between carrots and sweet potatoes.

He likes rounding the kitchen in his "jeep" walker. He honks the horn with his mouth and plays with the mirror all the time. I usually put him in it after his dinner, while I am making our dinner. Daddy gets home about 10 minutes after that and when Nico sees him, he gets so excited, he does double time in his jeep. Instead of walking one foot at a time, he will push with both at the same time for a little extra speed. He is getting to be so funny.

He likes his baths, doing his flash cards, and kissing Mommy. He is so curious about everything and still wants to taste it. He can sit up when you put him in a sitting position. He's not able to pull himself up into a sitting position yet, he's getting there. He is rolling everywhere and just wants to get running already. He's something else! We can't wait to see what he has in store for us next:)

YOU CAN HELP

Text "HAITI" to 90999 to donate $10 to the Red Cross for Haiti. It will be charged directly to your phone bill.

Continue to pray for Haiti and it's people. Also, for Matt, Stacey, and Lily. Pray they stay safe. Pray that the Lord speaks to them to make smart and safe decisions as they continue to help, work, and live in Haiti.

jumping into 5 months!

Nico turned 5 months on the 6th! I feel like it's only been a few days, not 5 months! He is such a good boy. He eats well, not turning anything away, yet, plays, sleeps through the night most the time, and really only fusses if he wants to stand, or just needs something. He is very relaxed, sometimes can be too serious. If you're a new face to him, he will stare you down. Probably to the point where you will look away first. He's just so curious. He ALWAYS wants to stand, loves giving Mommy kisses, and is just a love bug. He definitely makes being a first time Mom a little easier,or so I think.

Nico is a whopping 19 pounds and 29 inches long. He is wearing 6-9 month and some 12 month clothing. He wears a size 3 diaper, he has actually been in a size 3 diaper for 2 months now.  He is a pro at rolling over. He loves his grandparents, loves dancing, loves food, and is SO good in church. He loves being in just a diaper and when you do try to put clothes back on him, will screech and then once he is done and you stand him up, he's talking sweet again. He doesn't like to lay down for too long. He doesn't like to be alone in a room for too long. He also does not like to nap in his crib. He would rather be in a room with noise and will sleep for a good hour or so. He definitely has his own personality.

Nico got a new toy from Aunt Brenda! It's a jump-a-roo. He LOVES it. He will jump, swing, and bounce around forever in it. Yesterday, he was jumping so hard, his bottom almost hit the floor. It is such a joy to hear him laugh and see him smile. Malcolm White, Stacey's Dad, told me I would not want to blink because I would be afraid of missing out on something. Let me tell you, he is SO right! He is changing, doing, and learning something new everyday!

great start

This year has already had a exciting start! First, Casey got a promotion after working only 3 months at his new job! Congrats Babe! We get to start a new Bible study at the end of the month, we really enjoyed it the past few months. And for me, there may be a perfect position available for me in March, YAY!!!

There has already been so much going on with Nico. All in the past week he has held his own bottle, found his toes and loves to try to eat them, rolled over, is holding a sippy cup, and is giving kisses. So much in just one week. Thank you God for all the blessings!

Grammy has been coming over and watching Nico for me for a few hours last week and this week. It gives me a chance to run some errands without having to take Nico out in the freezing cold. Thank You Grammy!  Well, one night when I got home the cutest thing happened. Grammy got done feeding Nico, and not only did HE have food all over his face, Grammy had cereal all over hers too! So cute!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LILY!!!!!!

This post from Matt & Stacey's blog last year is what we all were waiting for:

Unbelievable. As most of you know, Stacey was scheduled to be induced this morning at 8AM. At 2:00AM this morning, Stacey went into labor; no induction needed. We arrived at Ohio State University Hospital around 5:00AM and are patiently awaiting Lily's delivery. The Doctors say that everything looks great. We'll be sure to keep you all updated on the latest news.

Lily was and is, absolutely BEAUTIFUL! The first time we met her, she was calm, quiet(atleast when we were there during the day), and already had a lilltle personality and attitude of her own. We were so happy that the Lord allowed her to be part of the Ayars' family.

Here she is today, a full 1 year old! We can't believe how fast this year has flown by. I am sure Matt and Stacey are wondering what happened to the year and what happen to their baby. She is now a little girl. Still BEAUTIFUL, with so much happiness, love, and joy she brings to our family. We sure wish we could spend more time with her than a few times a year, but we will take all we can get. WE LOVE YOU LILY!
