baby love

We found a daycare! Casey, Nico, and I checked out 3 yesterday. There was a definite NO from one. As soon as we walked in we knew. It was too small, they didn't go over any curriculum, and it just didn't feel right. They didn't seem organized at all. There was a OK, if we have too one. They seemed very organized, went over everything we wanted to hear, and they seemed friendly. They too, just seemed cluttered. Small rooms, cribs pushed in the corner, and have been "remodeling" a new infant room that was "supposed" to be done in Oct.. The room is no where near finished and I am not sure why. They didn't either. " Just orders pushed back" they said. Then, we went to Kidz Ink. You need a key card to get in, so safety is there, they have security cameras in every room and part of the building that can be viewed from the lobby, and the rooms and curriculum were amazing. Also, the teacher that would be taking care of Nico is an older woman that reminded us of a Grandma, loving and caring. She was sitting in a rocker with a few babies around her, lights out(nap time), soft music playing, and talking softly to them. It just seemed right. They are also going to let me bring him before I start on March 8th, just to get all my nervousness, anxiousness, and fears out of how he will be. Thank you, everyone, for your prayers!

I am so thankful for all the time I have been able to spend with Nico. I know it will be good for him to be with other kids. I am just trying to get as much "baby love" as possible.

fun

Casey and me, and our friends Dave, Clare, and Steve, went on a ski trip this past weekend. We all forgot a camera, so, no funny pictures of me falling. It was a good time, even though I can barely move my body now. Clare and I did snow boarding. This was my first time ever. We went to Elk Mountain, a 4 hour drive away. It was fun and good for Casey and I to have some Hubby and Wifey time:) Nico stayed with Grammy and Pop pop. It was so great to get back to him yesterday. I missed him SO much.

Dave found a icicle bigger than him!

Elk Mountain at night

Yesterday was also Titi Angie's Birthday! Happy Birthday!!!

off the charts

Nico had his 6 months appointment today. "He is growing beautifully", Dr. Ann said. He is 21 pounds(93%), 30 inches long(over 97%), and in the 50% for head circumference. She said,"he's off the charts for his height". Such a big boy:) Nico had to get 3 shots, poor baby. He was so brave and didn't cry for very long. Nico's new word is Da-Da-Da-Da. He's loves his Daddy!

Well, I interviewed at Sallie Mae, for the "Credit Operations" position, and I got the offer on Monday! So, I have a job! I start March 8th. Casey and I have 3 tours schedule for day cares next week. Please pray that the right one is available and that it will be apparent to us.

familia

Nico will be holding Granny soon:)

We went to visit Pop pop Mose, Granny, Uncle Ang and Aunt Candy on Saturday. We had an amazing time. We love them dearly and anytime we get the opportunity to be with family, it is such a blessing. Nico enjoyed all the attention. He got funny faces from Pop pop and a cool new shirt. He got LOTS of hugs and kisses from everyone and I think everyone was on their hands and knees playing " I'm gonna getcha". Please pray for Pop pop. He's tired, losing weight, and sick. He is such an amazing person and we love him SO much.

Being snowed in for 2 days gave us some wonderful family time. Daddy got extra time with Nico, I had some help and a little rest, and Nico loved every minute of having us to himself ALL day for 2 days. He is learning and growing so fast! He just about has his crawl down, even if it's backwards:) He has been trying to stand, talking more than ever, and yesterday, said ma-ma-ma and da-da! Not sure if he knew what he was saying, but he saw the reaction he got from us when saying it, and said it ALL day:) What a great Valentine!

We have had so much snow over the past few weeks. We had 2 feet on the ground before getting just about another 2 feet. Also, we are supposed to get more snow tomorrow into Wednesday. We are all ready for flowers, sun, and the beach!

it's time...

Or so I think, for me to go back to work. I am excited and scared all at the same time. Excited because I will be able to help relieve Casey a bit. Scared because I feel like I am letting someone else raise our child:( Everyone reassures me that daycare is normal, and I know that. It's just not what I wanted. 2 or 3 hours a day is just not going to be enough for me. How am I going to do it? I was never in daycare growing up. My Mom and Dad both worked and my Grandmom took care of us. I am trying to prepare myself. I see my friends that have their babies in daycare, and they are all happy babies. I know it will work. I just need to pray that we find one that is right for Nico and us. Please pray that we find a daycare or person to watch Nico that is caring, loving, and patient. Also, please pray for me. I put in an application for the same type of work I have been doing for years. I am just nervous, I have not worked in over a year.

So, we got about 24+inches of snow this past weekend and now, they are calling for another 18 to 24 inches on top of that. We are pretty much stocked up with what food and baby items we will need. I am just praying we don't lose power. It's not just going to be snow this time. They are saying sleet as well.

6 months!

Frustrated, trying to crawl and reach his toy.

Being a love bug with Mommy!

Not wanting to put his clothes back on after playing with Daddy.

Here he is, 6 months old! A whole half year already! Trying to crawl, LOVES to eat anything and everything, trying to eat Mommy and Daddy's food, trying to take your cup when you're drinking, enjoys toys, LOVES when big kids are around, and just overall an amazing little person. Nico is an amazing and precious gift from the Lord and we thank Him everyday for such a blessing!

growing and learning

Nico is almost 6 months now! How can it be? Our tiny little baby is HUGE! He is wearing 12 month shirts because his body and arms are so long. He is wearing 12 - 18 month socks and size 3 shoes. He is probably about 20+ pounds. He has been sitting up for a few weeks, holds his own bottle(when he's not too sleepy), gets around like a champ in his walker, and has preferences to toys. He is really figuring it out.

Nico has been trying to crawl. He is either up on his hands with legs and butt down, or butt up in the air with arms down. He hasn't figured out how to put the two together yet. Nico loves to hear himself and will just talk and gurgle sounds. He reaches for you when he wants up and gives the best kisses ever! He is very loving and affectionate. Such a sweet boy!

Nico had his first cold this week:( Believe it or not, he STILL took all his naps and slept throgh the night, 7pm - 7am. He was still smiling, laughing, and happy as could be, until Mommy had to wipe his nose.
