nico's first snow day

Today, we woke up to a winter wonderland!  Which of course meant, daycare and schools closed, but work still open : (  Mommy took the day off to stay home with Nico. But what a great surprise, Daddy took off too : )

We started out our morning as normal. Nico saying "eat eat eat", then Nico helping Daddy do the dishes. Then leading to jumping on the couch, shaking the controller, trying to turn on "Barrrryeyyyy"(Barney).  Nico got a extra surprise this morning!  His first time playing in the snow : )

He loved walking outside and seeing "Snow snow snow"! Loved the "ball" and being pulled around on a sled. What a great time we had.

After 2 hours of playing, falling, running, snow balls, and helping Mommy and Daddy shovel and clean the car, Nico needed a break. A 2 hour nap.

Only to wake up from his nap and run run run!  Playing, climbing, eating ice cream before dinner, then mac n cheese, hot dog, pudding for dinner. To finish up with Mom mom and Titi Bernie feeding him salad and spaghetti. How does he do it?  Where does it go?

What a wonderful family day we had together! Back to work tomorrow.

So, what do you do to entertain a 17 month old when it's too freezing outside to play for more than 10 minutes? Now he has wind burn on his cheeks. He's still too young to take to those bounce off the wall tube places. Will break everything at a museum, and you don't want him to watch tv??? Help please?

We decided to paint! Didn't last too long, maybe 15 minutes, but it was great! Nico really got into it and was SO proud of his art work.

But, most of all, he LOVED bathing in the sink afterwards and did NOT want to put his clothes back on.

It was a fun day, but I would love if someone could give me some great idea and activities to do in this cold with my boy.

a new year

Happy birthday Brody and Lily! Brody, today, would have been 3 years old! Lily, yesterday, is now 2 years old! I can't believe how fast time is going, how much I still and will always miss Brody, how the Lord has blessed us with another wonderful little boy, and that Lily is already 3!!! Craziness...

What a great start to a new year. We got to hang out with Mom mom and Titi Bernie all day yesterday! Nico got to play in his new playhouse/tent, that he loves! Most kids would be content with just sitting inside. Not my crazy Nico...He runs in, dives in, and tips it while rolling all over the room in it. As I said before, Nico is all boy!

We started the New Year with Nico's favorite meal, spaghetti and meatballs : ) We tried the "Sinatra Family" meatball recipe, amazing!!! You must try. The recipe is right on line. Just search Frank Sinatra meatball recipe. You will not be disappointed.

Nico's "cheese" whenever he sees a camera face. Hilarious!
